Sharing my experiences
My first blood donation experience 3mths ago was a great and fullfilling one.
It's painless to me.

Seriously, i don't feel a thing when they draw out the blood from me. As they'll first numb the particular area of your arms before they'll insert the "BIG" needle.

After finish blood donation. It feels really great. This is where i couldn't explain how great the feeling is to some. Maybe after you tried it out on your own, you'll get what i mean.

Oh, to those who're concern about the time it takes to donate and all...

Consider myself lucky, as that day wasn't so crowded. It only took me about 30mins or less to both registering and get my blood donated.

Abstract
Blood donation saves lives. This is a simple statement, yet it captures the altruism of donating blood. To donate blood, one must have a genuine, unselfish concern for others. It is all about helping fellow human beings when it matters most.

In fact, I am told that Singapore is amongst 39 countries where every drop of blood collected comes from voluntary unpaid donors. Of our 4 million residents, 1% donate blood . Of this 1%, one-third donate blood regularly, or 2 to 3 times a year. While this shows that blood donors are indeed a rare breed, it also shows that many more Singaporeans can come forward to donate blood. In order to ensure a constant and stable supply of safe blood to meet the needs of patients , we need more people to not just be aware of the importance of blood donation but also to come forward and donate blood regularly.

I couldn't agree more to the abstract above. But i can only voice out one concern. I've friends who're interested, but not all who're interested can donate, and that they're people who have a genuine, unselfish concern for others too.
